Our History:
The Discovery Bay Cricket Club (DBCC) was established in 2005, to engage and encourage people’s interest of the game; to give them opportunity to learn, play and develop their skills within cricket. Led by its founder Nilesh Jhaveri – highly experienced player and coach, the Club was started to accommodate the growing interest of cricket within the community in Discovery Bay, Hong Kong.
The Club has since evolved, to attract players from across Lantau and within urban Hong Kong. Our men’s team – DB Lions – plays matches against other cricket teams across Hong Kong, and heads off on tours to places including Thailand and Nepal.
DBCC also offers structured cricket coaching for children aged 3.5 – 16 years old.
We hold our junior coaching sessions at Mui Wo football ground, Lantau; and adult coaching programs at the Discovery Bay Recreation Club Cricket Nets on Saturdays. Sessions feature Batting and Bowling Clinics that are a great opportunity for both youths and seniors to develop and fine-tune their cricket techniques.
New players – and players whose skills may be somewhat rusty, are absolutely welcome to join us.
Plus, if you want some focused advice or simply want to spend time improving your game under expert supervision, we can tailor a programme for you.
